Baker Cheese Wins Gold Medal for Flavored String Cheese at World Championship Cheese Contest

Fusing our all-natural mozzarella string cheese recipe with a hint of diced jalapeno peppers made a gold-medal impression and we are pleased to introduce our new product offering in the Baker Cheese Country Store and soon to private label customers.

Gold-Medal Awarded to Baker Cheese for Jalapeno Flavored String Cheese Variety

This year, we were proud to accept the gold medal for flavored string cheese at the 2016 World Championship Cheese Contest with jalapeno flavored all-natural string cheese, a 2016 new product launch.

The World Championship Cheese Contest, initiated in 1957, is the largest technical cheese, butter and yogurt competition in the world. This year’s competition featured a record-setting 2,959 cheese entries from 23 countries and 31 states. Each cheese was individually evaluated during the three-day competition in Madison, Wis. Overall, American cheesemakers dominated the competition, earning gold medals in 83 of the total 110 categories judged. In fact, Wisconsincheesemakers were the top in the nation, dominating with 38 gold medals.
